Behind the Seams
Behind the seams of our bespoke ice skating garments is a process that melds craftsmanship, creativity and innovation. It begins with a collaborative consultation where skaters' visions are translated and taken into account with the design concepts. Patterns are tailored to each individual's measurements using computer aided design, before projecting the pattern onto the material for cutting. Fabrics such as Nylon Lycra, and those renowned for stretch, rebound, durability, and ability to capture the essence of movement on ice are used. Sometimes non-stretch materials are used in combination with stretch fabric, to obtain the look we are after. If the client is local, fittings can be performed to ensure a proper fit. If the client isn’t local, then we use as many measurements as we can to keep the fit on track. From applying intricately made embellishments, trims and sometimes air brushing, every detail is executed with placement and artistry in mind. Behind the seams, there's a dedication to crafting a garment that enhances the performance of the skating experience.
